A record of my coupon adventures

I was looking at the CVS ad this morning and one my favorite sales they have which usually has no coupon match ups are the $.88 32oz Gatorades. I was glad to see the sale in the ad. I was perusing the Walgreen’s ad online, since I never get one in my delivered paper (side note: didn’t get a Target for some reason today, grrr). Walgreens has them for $1 with the in ad coupon. So if you are needing these I’d suggest going to CVS for them. The also have the Sobe drinks for $.88 too.

So I tried to come up with all kinds of ways to come up with a beautiful dress but not spend a ton of money. I visited a national bridal chain which won’t be named, and had a horrible experience. Instead of spending a ton of money with people like that, I decided to check the web and eBay. I just couldn’t find what I wanted in my budget. I even considered ordering one of those dresses from China, GASP! No, seriously, I didn’t, but that option is out there. However, I finally found my answer on Facebook!

I searched and found this wonderful shop.

http://www.facebook.com/SecondElegance

I subsequently found their website and saw what I liked. I made an appointment and found a dress!! I was so excited. Second Elegance is located in Homewood, AL. They are a formal wear consignment shop which focuses on bridal. I was happy they had plenty of choices in my size, and the first dress I tried on was my dress.

I’d love to post a pic, but I don’t want to spoil it for Jeff. But it’s ivory, and lacy!! Will fit perfectly with our venue, the Tannehill Country Church.  http://www.tannehill.org/church.html

The dress is available online from $583.oo to $690.00. I bought it for $399.

Savings of over $200!

Go see the ladies at Second Elegance if you live in the Birmingham or Tuscaloosa area. They have something for everyone. Like them on facebook too. She posts pics of the new gowns she gets in.

Walgreens isn’t my favorite store. But occasionally I like to drop in on some deals. The bad part is they rarely have in stock the major sale items and the Walgreens around here don’t even carry some of the items in the flier. It’s a 20 mile trip to my nearest Walgreens, but I happened to be in Hoover today looking at flowers for my wedding at Hobby Lobby. I usually only go in Walgreens when I’m in Hoover or visiting my parents in Northport. Either way is over 20 miles one way. So definitely not worth it considering the lack of stock and the drive.

But that being said, I did ok today.

Transaction 1:

Gillette Fusion Razor $9.89

  • MQ: $5/1

Paid: $4.89, got $5 in register rewards

(I had planned to buy several other rewards items like the colgate toothpaste, Gillette Body wash+free deodorant, Dove deodorant, and the Oscar Mayer Deli Creations, but all were out of stock.)

Transaction 2:

1 Nabisco Honey Maid+1 Hershey Bars+ 1 Kraft Jet Puffed Marshmallows

  • $1/1 wyb all three
  • Wags deal: Marshmallows for free

2 Hormel Beef Stew

  • Sale $1.99/each
  • 2 $.75/1 IP

3 Magic Tape

  • B1G2 Free Wags q
  • $1/1 IP

Used the $5 register rewards.

Total was $3.47

Total OOP $8.36

Total Savings $13.84

I really wanted the Dole Fruit Crisp which they didn’t carry, they were out of Capt. Crunch and Diet Sunkist and Snuggle. Sigh. Wags disappoints again.
